Originally from Argentina, Ana Diaz is a filmmaker, designer, and founder of SokFok Studio, an agency that provides communication services to sustainable organisations. Currently based in Barcelona, she studied Fashion Design in Madrid and completed an MA in Textile Design and Sustainable Practice at University of the Arts London.

I started SokFok Studio eight years ago in London, as I was finishing my Masters on sustainable fashion. While studying, I realised that academics were not very good at communicating the amazing stuff they were doing around sustainability and the fashion industry.

The fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world

The fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world, especially its fast fashion version, where millions of garments are bought and discarded every year. I didn’t want to be part of that problem; I wanted to be part of the solution. So, I decided I would to move to London to study sustainable practices in the textile industry.

Unfortunately, this part of the industry was only a small part of the problem. While studying, I decided I wanted to look at it in a holistic way. It made me think, what’s the core problem here? Education, I thought.
