KALPA GALLERY has confirmed it will participate at WABI-SABI LAB, a unique art event bringing together twenty international players of the creative fields who embody the values of wabi-sabi.

Wabi-sabi, which values imperfection, has dominated Japanese arts at their highest level. Today, it is becoming an “endangered species.” Worse yet, this aesthetic of the timeless, which thrives on the long passage of time and even enriches itself with its patina, is being co-opted by the mass-market decor industry and is infiltrating communication related to fashionable and disposable consumer goods: a complete antinomy.

From November 29 to December 02 2024 within the historic interiors of Domaine de Quincampoix in the Vallée de Chevreuse, just outside Paris, WABI SABI LAB will offer a harmonious choice of pieces, a fusion of sensibilities unified by aesthetic coherence, complementary universes, and implemented synergies.

For this occasion, KALPA presents an organic selection of artworks of its represented artists, created in diverse materials and languages. Each work evokes a sense of emotional intimacy, with earthy tones, appreciation for natural processes, and characteristics of irregularity and imperfection.
