Nestled in the rice terraces of Ubud, Soulshine Bali Hotel and Yoga Retreat Oasis is the brainchild of musician Michael and former healthcare worker Sara Franti.

“The Balinese people are so connected to nature and that’s what we wanted to create here. We’re in the middle of a rice field so we try to make everything reflect that. The buildings and decks follow the shape of the land. Plants grow off the building so you feel that you’re immersed in nature,” Michael explains.

“Ten years ago I came here on vacation after a tour of Australia and I just fell in love with it. I’ve been to a lot of islands and beaches, but I found that Bali has this incredible culture of creative geniuses. Being surrounded by such creativity inspires me as an artist and the culture is so beautiful and sweet.”
